FAI FOR ITALY

On April 6, 2009, an earthquake struck L'Aquila and the heart of Abruzzo. The Fountain of the 99 Spouts suffered serious damage. The FAI, with the help of private citizens and businesses, decided to "adopt" this monument beloved by the people of L'Aquila, and opened the first art restoration site in the city.

The saving of the Fountain is only the latest in a long series of protection interventions carried out by the FAI on frescoes, gardens, parks, castles, stretches of coastline, old residences, monuments and landscapes. Every day, not just in Abruzzo but in every corner of Italy, other treasures from our heritage are threatened by deterioration and neglect and are in need of urgent and constant care and restoration work in order to be protected and open to the public. Every day we are working on dozens of fronts to defend a natural and artistic wealth that is unique in all the world. We can't stop now.

For this reason, we never tire of asking for material help from all sensitive and caring people, because every contribution, even the smallest, is a precious drop. And drop by drop we can save the best of Italy.
