Mayor Cialente: the rebirth of L'Aquila has already begun

FAI: L'Aquila, where are the institutions?

Sofia Bosco: competent action in defense of cultural identity

BUSINESSES THAT HAVE COOPERATED IN THE PROJECT

In response to the terrible earthquake on April 6, 2009 that rocked L'Aquila and the surrounding area, the FAI rallied by launching a fundraising campaign among its own members and preparing an intervention model in which it became the spokesperson and representative of civil action involving many persons and organizations that wished to give material help in saving the city's historic/art heritage.

Therefore thanks go to all the private individuals and FAI members who responded to the appeal by SOS Monumenti Abruzzo, the businesses, the professionals and institutions that contributed in various ways to the restoration project for the Fountain of the 99 Spouts, a symbolic monument of L'Aquila.

With the fundamental contribution of:

Borsa Italiana was established with the privatization of the stock exchange markets, and since 1998 it has been active in the organization, management and operation of the financial markets in Italy. As of 2007 it has been integrated with the London Stock Exchange Group. Together with Assosim, it decided immediately to support the restoration of one of the city of L'Aquila's most symbolic monuments, the Fountain of the 99 Spouts, making a sizable donation toward its structural consolidation, making it safe, repairing water leaks and restoring its decorative elements.

Associazione Italiana degli Intermediari Mobiliari represents operators in the financial intermediary market in relations with state bodies and public administrations, other trade associations, economic, social and other associations, agencies, and public and private organizations and individuals.
Assosim carries out research, legal assistance and training activities, with publications and the organizing of conferences and seminars.
Assosim, together with Borsa Italiana, responded to the FAI's appeal by becoming the spokesperson also among associated companies and inviting them to participate actively in the group supporting the restoration of the Fountain of the 99 Spouts.
The companies that have chosen to make a contribution to this project are:

Technical Sponsors:

Edimo Restauri, a Gruppo Edimo company, has worked for several decades in the planning and carrying out of restoration and recovery works on protected real estate. In particular it is specialized in architectural restoration work, the consolidation of load-bearing structures, the restoration of mosaics and wall paintings, the restoration of wooden furnishings and stone objects, and archeological excavations. It also does graphic and photographic surveys, the analyzing of masonry and of the deterioration of stone walls, verifications of archeological stratifications and museum installations.

Eugeni Pericle, a Gruppo Grimaldi company, has been working in the field of monument restoration, archeological excavations and building recovery since 1967. It works with highly qualified administrators and technician and specialized workers in the construction field.

The attention that Mapei has always given to art and culture is a company creed deeply rooted in the past and based on the firm belief that work must never be separated from art. Among the many things Mapei has done for the recovery of the building heritage damaged by the earthquake in Abruzzo is the sponsoring of the restoration work on the Fountain of the 99 Spouts, a symbol of L'Aquila, with the furnishing of its own specific materials for consolidation, reinforcement and waterproofing.
The company has also been close to the Foundation for years as a Corporate Golden Donor, providing support for FAI restoration projects.

The FAI thanks the following professionals for engineering work and restoration works supervision:

Studio di Ingegneria Menichelli
Studio di Architettura Salvatici-Ripa di Meana
